Tears On The Dancefloor

Tears on the Dancefloor was Steps' fifth studio album. It was released on 21 April 2017 through Absolute and Fascination Records. Following two years of planning, recording began in October 2016. The Alias was enlisted to serve as the executive producer, and songwriters including Steve Mac, Ina Wroldsen, TMS and Fiona Bevan submitted songs. The album featured a cover version of Story of a Heart, written by Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson of ABBA. The album's title was taken from the song No More Tears on the Dancefloor by musical group Anders / Fahrenkrog.

The album was re-released on 27 October 2017 as Tears on the Dancefloor (Crying at the Disco Deluxe Edition) with five new songs, three of which had accompanying remixes. Versions of the album were produced featuring just one member of Steps on the cover, so that fans could collect the set.

Promotional releases

To promote the release of Tears On The Dancefloor, Steps released some tracks early on download and streaming sites. Story Of A Heart was later promoted as a stand-alone single.
